1. When it comes to knitting we all have seen the curled up edge.  To solve this problem knit the seed stitch (the last two stitches of each edge).  Not only does it help solve the curling edge problem, it is also a beautiful stitch.  All you need to do is to alternate K1, P1.  Purl when you see a knit stitch and knit when you see a purl stitch.  I especially like the stitch when I am working on a knitted cowl.  Check out the seed stitch cowl pattern.  #knittingseedstitch #seedstitchknit #seedstitchscarf.

  2. There's something unique in regards to a knitted beanie vs. a crochet beanie.  A knitted beanie has a textured look.  A crochet beanie usually has tiny holes.  I figured a way to crochet a beanie and get a similar look to a knitted beanie without the tiny holes, using the single crochet stich.  The secret is a smaller needle.  You start out with the required needle, and then you proceed to a smaller needle one size smaller.  You might have to use a needle two sizes smaller based on the yarn.  I enjoyed crocheting this fitted beanie.  I also added a ribbed texture.  The yarn is Lion Brand's Baby Alpaca.  It's soft and also warm.  This yarn is part of their luxury line.  Crochet Ribbed Beanie pattern.

  3. Knitchetlene's new crochet mittens! I just love using the Woolspun yarn Lion Brand.  You can crochet these mittens in a variety of colors using this yarn.  Definitely a fashion statement!  Also added is the pom-pom. It gives it a unique look but you can also use them to tie the mittens together.  It's a quick project that takes less than 2 hours to make. The mittens crochet pattern is available to download.

  6. I just adore this pattern.  First, you have a vision.  Then, you begin to crochet. Finally, you end up with the end-product.  I had such a wonderful time writing this pattern.  I have to say, the hardest part was testing the pattern out.  This is when you find all of your mistakes and have to tweak the pattern. What makes this crochet pattern so special is the yarn.  The Lion Brand Woolspun has a variety of colors to choose from.  Thinking of a last minute winter gift, crochet a cowl! This a quick and fun cowl pattern especially when deciding which three colors to use.

  7. I have enjoyed knitting these fingerless gloves.  It's a quick knit project.  The Red Heart Soft yarn is a nice yarn to knit with.  The pattern leaves room to knit fitted gloves.  With this type of yarn it's best to knit the yarn to fit.  I also enjoy wearing fingerless gloves myself especially when I am driving.  As the weather starts to change add these gloves to your to your Fall collection.

  8. I have truly enjoyed writing this pattern.  The Fingerless Crochet Gloves Pattern is  a quick crochet project. The Red Heart Soft yarn is in fact a very soft yarn. You can use these gloves while driving and still feel comfortable.  I also try to use a yarn this is accessible at a nearby arts & craft store.  This yarn is available at Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michaels and Walmart.  I am curious to find out where else this yarn is available and also your experience with using this yarn.
